Guest Coaches for Charity Clinic Next Weekend.

Oct-25-2008 Posted under Kelly Talk

So in addition to having my usual lovely assistant Amy, Joel and Andy Sack have volunteered to help coach the clinic.  Most of you already know Andy Sack but check out Joels resume:

“I started lifting when I was about 15 for a sport club in Sao Paulo and had got my first international competition as junior when I was 20, in Cali, Colombia, 1995, and I made 5th place. In 1996 I started to compete for one of the most known competitive sport club in Brazil, called Esporte Clube Pinheiros, where I had the opportunity to train with some international coaches from Cuba and get my marks to a new level. In 1998 I joined the Brazilian Team at the South American Games in Ecuador but I was still recovering myself from a shoulder surgery and I couldn’t do my best. Two years later I reached my best personal liftings, with 118kg/150kg and 81kg of body weight . Unfortunally I couldn’t have kept me as a “professional” athlete after that because that wasn’t paying enough.

Anyway, I have always focused my life to Weightlifting, I worked with my coach using Weightlifting as part of the physical conditioning for different sport athletes and I have been organized/managed many local competition in Brazil and worked as Weightlifting Manager Assistant in the Rio de Janeiro PanAmerican Games 2007.

But during my whole life what more has surprised me is how technique can be efficient, I used to compete with guys bigger and stronger than me, and I beat most of them even though not been the faster guy ever.”

Pretty cool hay?  It will be great to have him on board.

Between the two clinics 16 people have signed up thus far.  Let me know if you are interested.
