Crave salt?

If you find it exceptionally hard to reduce salt, then your sense of taste may have been impaired by a deficiency of Zinc.  Zinc is needed for both taste and smell.  It is hard to get substantial amount of zinc from your diet unless you eat mostly whole foods, meat and fish, so inc deficiency is becomming increasingly common.  To zinc deficient people, most foods taste too bland unless plenty of salt or other flavoring is added.
